Description
Summary:This article analyses the European prescriptions for Open Science and measures the extent to which they help to solve the previously existing contradiction within the European research area between the prescriptions that encourage the researchers to open the scientific process and research outputs to external stakeholders, and those which recommend research performance indicators that are based on the articles published in international scholarly journals. In this regard, combining OA publication and the archiving of a diversity of research outputs on OA repositories is preferable to unilaterally flipping to Gold OA through « big deals » with Major publishers.
