Description
Summary:The following pro-seminar paper highlights anti-Semitism at the University of Innsbruck between 1918 and 1938. As such, it is mainly concerned with student societies, both ";Burschenschaften"; and Catholic societies. It will be shown that while these groups had some significant ideological differences, anti-Semitism proved to be a uniting factor. This paper will also trace the history of the student society leading up to the ";Anschluss"; in 1938 and provide evidence that anti-Semitic activities by ";Burschenschaften"; continued well into the second half of the 20thcentury.
