Description
Summary:1 Thess 2:14–16, Rom 15:30–32, Phil 3:2–6 and Gal 4:22–28 build parts of the Pauline writings that stand out because of their polemic against Judaism at that time. The article „Schärfe der Kritik als Zeichen für Nähe. Untersuchung paulinischer Polemik gegen das Judentum der damaligen Zeit“ tries to position these harsh words by Paul against Judaism at that time. Thereby it will be examined if the statement by the Pontifical Biblical Commission on passages of the New Testament with accusations against Judaism at that time can be reconfirmed. Beyond that in some texts of Pauline polemic against Judaism at that time should be explored based on exegetic analyses if the polemic is an expression of adjacency and if the polemic is influenced by the specific situation of the addressed community as perceived by Paul.
