For these two small islands of the Indian Ocean far from any major land, air connections are like threads which extend to the major tourist-generating countries, especially European ones. Until recently the tourists were mainly transported by Seychelles and Mauritian airlines, flagships of their country. But these national carriers, struggling to adapt to the situation, had to fold their wings and cancel numerous routes.
