Summary: | Viral warts are difficult to treat. In this study the efficacy of 5% 5 fluorouracil cream in condyloma acuminata and other types of verrucae was compared to their standard mode is therapy, viz., podophyllin for the former and electrodessications for the later. It was seen that 5% 5 fluorouracil cream was superior to local application of 25% podophyllin in tine benzoin in the treatment of condyloma acuminata with low rate of recurrence, whereas this method is successful only in 30% of cases of verruca vulgaris without any recurrence. |
