Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine: structure and compositionKlymenko ErikaThe aim of the paper is to study the structure, content and documents composition of personal archive of Lev Mykolaiovych Revutskyi, the prominent Ukrainian composer, teacher, musician and public figure, which is stored in the Institute of Manuscriptof V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine; to cover the history of its submission to the archive collection and to reveal the principles and features of systematization of the teacher-composer’s manuscripts. The methodology of the research. The creative activity of Revutskyi is studied with application of historical-comparative, chronological and statistical methods of structural analysis as well as source and text study methods of musical sources analysis. The use of these methods made it possible to determine the typology and document composition of original works, their structural features and informationpotential, as well as to restore the integrity of individual works and their parts. The scientific novelty. This study introduces into scientific circulation previously unknown handwritten materials that reflect the main directions of creative activity of L. M. Revutskyi. This paper highlights little-known aspects of the artiste’s creativity that complements composer ‘s achievement with new interesting archival materials. Conclusions. Description of the personal archive allowed us to analyse the composition and content of L. M. Revutskyi’s musical heritage as well as to outline the main structural groups of his works. It was discovered that the main areas of creative activity represented in the documents studied include instrumental, vocal and vocal-instrumental pieces. The essential part of the documents is devoted to dramatic arts pieces, for instance the editing of M. V. Lysenko’s opera “Taras Bulba”, pedagogical activity and work of his student years. A separate section is devoted to musical manuscripts by other authors closely related to Revutskyi’s creative work and his musical heritage. Little-known aspects of the composer’screativity were considered which is important for further research and honouring the memory of the outstanding artist. http://nbuv.gov.ua/j-pdf/rks_2019_23_3.pdf l. m. revutskyi, archive fond, composer, creative work, structure, composition
