Moreover, his thinking reflects important issues of literary debate of first century BC in Rome. As an earnest atticist writer, Dionysius wrote two treatises (On Thucydides and the Second Letter to Ammeus) in reaction to the Stoic admirers of the author of the Peloponnesian War.
