This study focuses on the preferences of Sheikh Seddique Hassan Khān Al-Qannūjī which are related to the language of the Arabs in his Tafsīr, Fatḥul Bayān Fī Maqāsid Al-Qur'ān, including to linguistic and grammatical point of views. In addition to this, this study will collect widely spread sayings of Sheikh Al-Qannūjī in his Tafsīr by seeking preference over others opinions. The study contains the most important rules of the preferences in linguistic and grammatical point of views, applied by Sheikh Al-Qannūjī in his Tafsīr which are the base of preferring of some commentators over others, which does not dispel the interpreter when interpreting the Holy Qur'ān, especially with regard to the language of the Arabs.These rules are related to the use of words, pronouns and expressions built by Arabs. In addition, this study is also based on the extent of Sheikh Al-Qannūjī in the use of these rules to the right and apply them correctly and the extent of his departure and not to employ them appropriately. The present study will undertake the methodology of Al-Qannūjī, where he in his commentary vividly used the linguistic and grammatical rules of Arabic language to prefer his opinion while comparing to others opinion.
