Description
Summary:The aim of this paper is to discuss some of the possibilities that the theoretical and methodological micro-Italian history provides researchers of slavery in Brazil. For this, we selected a number of careers that might be better documented, with the focus of this trial the city of Alegrete. Although primarily a theoretical article, we decided to relate the methodology, theory and empirical research for the analysis to gain more concrete contours. In this sense, we consider that tools like the the decrease in the scale of analysis and tracking of the name of the same individual from different sources, in addition to revealing social structures and imperceptible to a macro study also have theoretical implications for understanding the process as slave a whole.
