It becomes increasingly relevant to preserve the cultural memory of these people. This paper presents an introduction to the ethnomathematics studies in Africa by various authors usnig a methodology based on informal conversation with group members, participant observation, and interviews, supported by photographic records and written field notes. The results of the research developed in Huíla (Angola) registered much important mathematical knowledge about building the traditional houses of the Nyaneka-nkhumbi that can be understood in the creation of tasks in a context of formation, a topic of interest in the first author‟s doctoral project.http://revista.etnomatematica.org/index.php/RLE/article/view/171/169EthnomatematicsMathematical practices of Nyaneka-nkhumbiSpace and formVernacular architecture.
