In theoretical-methodological terms, the text is structured in three moments. Initially one makes a study of history from music as a historical document. In the sequence analyzes are made on the context of the war, its motivations, vicissitudes and directions. And then song Era um garoto que como eu amava os Beatles e os Rolling Stones is taken as the analysis document. The theoretical framework includes studies by Marcos Napolitano (2002), Eric Hobsbawm (1995), Rodrigo Pedroso (2015) and others. As a result, it was perceived that the war represented the interests of the US government, which, by seeking to combat and restrain the advance of socialism by Eurasia, appropriated the common life of young soldiers by decimating it. On the other hand, the study showed that working with other historical documents broadens the possibilities of research and allows the researcher to throw other glances about the history and, in the specific case of music, to perceive the particularities of the subject's gaze.https://ojs.ufgd.edu.br/index.php/historiaemreflexao/article/view/9074vietnã. imperialismo ianque. música.
