Description
Summary:The overall objective is to analyze the relationship between technological and social performance of Petrobras Biofuels (PBio). For this purpose, we performed a field research with qualitative treatment. PBio presented three types of evolution in this relationship, namely: i) more social: relationship between agricultural technology and family farming; ii) more technical: relationship between industrial technolo- gies and shareholders (private and government), and industrial technologies and environment; iii) balanced: relationship between industrial technology and family farming. We found that the evolution of technological capabilities and Corporate Social Performance (CSP) occurred in PBio in a balanced way, when considering the dimensions of industrial technology and family farming; and in an unbal- anced way, in the combination of other dimensions analyzed. The results confirmed the need for PBio seek more balance in the relationship between technological development and social performance.
