Summary:The article analyses the problems of cultural traumas as a study subject in the framework of memory studies. The author highlights the psychological and sociological interpretation of trauma paying attention to how their interweaving sets the variety of angles for the trauma studying in domestic humanitarian science. On the example of the main works on collective injuries, the specifics of addressing this topic are revealed, and the possibility of applying the concept of “cultural trauma” to the analysis the Great Patriotic War memory is also determined.
