QPC ANTI-CORRIDA : Une saisine previsible, une decision discutable

Since its inception on March 1, 2010, the procedure for the issue of constitutionality (QPC) was a fashion and not later contradicted. As for the bullfight, what interests us here, we know that French law provides an exception to the criminal prohibition of cruelty to animals. Bullfighting abuse or cruelty to an animal, in principle, comes within the scope of the prohibition contained in paragraph 1 of Article 521-1 of the Criminal Code, which punishes the act of "serious financial abuse (... ) or to commit an act of cruelty to a pet or pet, or kept in captivity. "Exceptionally, the seventh paragraph of Article 521-1 of the Criminal Code provides that the prohibition does not apply to set the" bullfight "(which includes both the bull with or without killing it runs itself)", where local traditions can be established.
