Bullfighting abuse or cruelty to an animal, in principle, comes within the scope of the prohibition contained in paragraph 1 of Article 521-1 of the Criminal Code, which punishes the act of "serious financial abuse (... ) or to commit an act of cruelty to a pet or pet, or kept in captivity. "Exceptionally, the seventh paragraph of Article 521-1 of the Criminal Code provides that the prohibition does not apply to set the" bullfight "(which includes both the bull with or without killing it runs itself)", where local traditions can be established.
