For each ofthirty-four presidential elections, currency revaluation and exchange rate variability measures are comparedfor periods before, during and after the period of electoral activity. The empirical results suggest that presidential elections had little or no detectable impact on exchange rates in the majority ofelections examined, but a tatistically significant (and often substantial) relation- ship wasfound in an important minority ofthe elections. The impact ofan election on currency values appears to vary substantially from election to election.http://www.gbfrjournal.org/pds/journal/thesis/20150625133649-4JTES.pdfpresidential electionsexchange rate
