Temperature evolution of diffuse scattering in Sr0.6Ba0.4Nb2O6 single crystal in the relaxor state

Temperature dependences of diffuse scattering of synchrotron radiation on model relaxor single crystal Sr0.6Ba0.4Nb2O6 have been studied in the temperature interval 90 – 290 K in the vicinities of lattice points (3 3 2), (4 1 2) and (0 0 2) in the directions [0 0 1], [0 1 0] and [1 -1 0]. It is sho...

Description
Summary:Temperature dependences of diffuse scattering of synchrotron radiation on model relaxor single crystal Sr0.6Ba0.4Nb2O6 have been studied in the temperature interval 90 – 290 K in the vicinities of lattice points (3 3 2), (4 1 2) and (0 0 2) in the directions [0 0 1], [0 1 0] and [1 -1 0]. It is shown, that this diffuse scattering (DS) is a strongly anisotropic. Its intensity IDS(T,q) is proportional q-α, where q is a reduce wavevector. The temperature dependences of the parameters α have been obtained, and it is established, that the microscopic modification of structure in Sr0.6Ba0.4Nb2O6 continues on cooling below a transition in the relaxor state.
