Summary: | In this text the question of knowledge dynamics in a working context is discussed. It is based on an ethnographic research carried out together with technicians in adult education, who belong to an association of local development. In this process three steps are analysed: the building and rebuilding of knowledge, their different types of transferences and their temporal dimension. The results show that the process of building and rebuilding is based on experimentation, reflection and negotiation of meaning carried out by members of the technical team. The transferences of knowledge take place from the outside to the inside of the working place and within the acting context itself. These transferences are, usually, linked to the doing and to the moment of doing. This is, no doubt, other of the main characteristics of knowledge in this context. We may, therefore, conclude that knowledge is closely linked to the temporal dimension of doing.
