Summary: | Digital social networks have become over few years one of the main internet users on African continent. In Côte d’Ivoire, in particular, several traditional associations operating in networks have transferred their activities into digital. Thus, from a traditional system in which social networks are hierarchical and bring together, physically, individuals sharing common values and objectives, they have moved to a digital system, an egalitarian, non-hierarchical organization that unites individualities and essentially sets up weak links. This being so, this study is based on content analysis of five (5) “Facebook” pages of traditional Ivorian communities. It argues that digital social networks are a reflection of traditional social networks. In doing so, the article targets the promotion of an education for socio-digital networks while preserving the very essence of traditional social networks.
