Methods Totally 60 elderly lymphoma patients with hospital admission between December 2017 and June 2018 were included as the control group, received a routing health education during in-hospital chemotherapy for the first time. Another 60 patients with hospital admission between July 2018 and Jan 2019 were recruited as the observation group, received health education with a leaflet and demonstration. The patients' awareness of prevention on falls, incidence of falls and patients' satisfaction of nursing care were compared between two groups. Results The awareness rate of prevention on falls was 91. 67%(55/60) in the observation group, which was higher than 76. 67%(46/60) in the control group (P<0. 05). There were three cases of falls reported in the control group. Patients in the observation group were more satisfied with nursing care than those in the control group (98. 33 vs. 88. 33%, P<0. 05). Conclusion The health education with a leaflet and demonstration is effective to improve the patients' awareness of prevention on falls, therefore reducing the risk of falls during in-hospital chemotherapy for the first time.http://www.zxyjhhl.com.cn/CN/article/downloadArticleFile.do?attachType=PDF&id=8583health education with a leaflet and demonstrationlymphomachemotherapyfalls
