Summary: | This article is a close reading of the end(ing) of a series. Caprica’s finale was meant as the ending of a season that would open onto the next – one that never came into being. The authors nevertheless seem to have invested this ending with real meaning. Between narrative closure and the outline of a future that cannot come about, Caprica confronts the consequences of its cancellation and immerses the viewers in a final five minutes of intensity and of catharsis : a narrative symphony that turns into a final apotheosis, as highlighted by the very title of the episode. |
