Summary: | Starting from Robert Stam´s suggestion that cinema is not “apenas a história dos filmes e cineastas, mas também a história dos sucessivos sentidos que os públicos têm atribuído ao cinema” (Stam, 2003, p. 257), we have searched to observe some aspects of the reception of the movie <em>O som ao redor</em>, as well to investigate features of narrative structurebased on Narratology. In this paper we will mainly focus on a specific type of reception, within criticism, with an emphasis on journalistic criticism. We will observe the recurrence of the remit to relations of fiction and society present in the critics to this study, searching to notice as such an aspect is read, at the same time will be observed in the filmic text some narrative possibilities that can be explored as regards to social representations.
