Description
Summary:The Qur’an which descended on the Last Prophet (S.W) is the word of Allah. It is a book of guidance for mankind. It proclaims its authority in its pages. The Prophet (S.W) also verified its authority in several of Hadith. The belief that the Qur’an is a final authority can be traced in the conviction of the Prophet’s companions (R.A) as well as the consensus of the entire Muslim Ummah. The scholars of Islamic jurisprudence in the mainstream Islamic schools of thought, that is, Hanfi, Shafae, Hambli, Malaki and Ja’fri, agree that not only the Qur’an is the final authority, but also is the primary source for deriving principles of Fiqh, which implies that the resolution of whatsoever issues must be first sought in the Qur’an. This establishes the fact that the Qur’an is an invaluable asset shared equally by the entire Ummah for construing good in the world.
