Description
Summary:The theme of the present article is the III Brazillian Congress of Social Workers (CBAS), four decades after its execution. We introduce two hypotheses into the debate: the first suggests that the main legacy of the III CBAS emerges on the new progressive horizon’s professional culture, forged by the profession during the crisis of the military dictatorship of 1964, which allowed the elaboration of a professional program compromised with human emancipation; the second one alludes to how much the referring legacy is confronted by a new phase of bourgeois domination in the current conjuncture, in which the diffusion of a reactionary conservatism, of philo-fascist character, is fundamental for the implementation of an ultraneoliberal agenda in the country.
