Summary: | The aim of the paperis to develop the principles of K. Debussy`s sound-image thinking, which reflect the ontological concept of the sound image of the world. It is revealed that the specificity of sound-thinking K. Debussy discovers the world-modeling, semantic, timbre-coloristical and time-spatial parameters of musical sound, which broadened the boundaries of the sound-symbolic worldview. It is proved that in the work of K. Debussy, the ontological concept of the sound image of the world («ontos — sonos — the sound image of the world») is based on a spatially contemplative, introvert type of sound-musical expression.
Research methodology. The article is based on the integrative approach, proceeding from a combination of general scientific (system, phenomenological) and special onto-sonological method, developed by the author of the article in his doctoral dissertation.
Results. The research formulates the onto-sonological notion of the sound-image of the world through perceiving/thinking/reproducing the synergy of being with sound-images within the system «ontos — sonos — logos» (being — sound/sounding — meaning). The sound-image of the world is determined by the holistic and diverse perception of sound, which is correlated to thinking with sound-images and is implicated in the semiotic structure of a piece of music in signs and symbols related to timbre and instruments. In the piano culture, the sound-image of the world is an intonation-connotational way of instrumental sound-expression, which objectifies the sound-musical consciousness of an artist through artistically organized sound.
Novelty. When studying and analyzing the of K. Debussy`s sound-image thinking The onto-sonological content of the sound-image of the world is explicated through a system of functions (ontological, gnoseological, world-modelling, sociocultural, sonological, mental and psychological, semiotic, sound-symbolic, individual style, and performance/interpretation). Onto-sonological approach has allowed us to reveal the nature of the transformation of the sound-image of the world, which consists in widening the sound-musical consciousness of artists and conceptualization of onto-sonological grounds of sound-image modelling of reality.
The practical significance. The key results of this research can be used in the lessons of performing skills, as well as in the series of lectures «Music Culture of Foreign Countries».
