Summary:Taking into account differential diagnosis and anti-cough therapies, the article considers some ENT diseases that can cause acute or long-term cough: laryngitis, laryngeal paresis, functional hypotonic dysphonia, and postnasal syndrome. Clinical manifestations of extraesophageal reflux and its role in the development of pharyngeal and laryngeal diseases are described. The role of antitussive drugs for diseases of upper respiratory tract is considered.
