Today the information graphics or infographics play a very important role in print media. This resource has allowed to the media to print pages with innovation and actuality signs, so they are agree the image audiency's necessities. The infographic is characterized by the combination of icon resources with textual fragments, and it has the basic elements of news:  Title, summary, body, sources and credits. Taking into account these factors, we will determine if the expressed information possesses a balanced distribution between text and image. Specifically, for the case of the regional newspaper "La Nación ", we considered necessary to explore which elements are pertinent in the selection process of images, since they should be attractive to serve as reading "hook"; because the readers initially fix the attention in the graphic elements of the pages.
