Summary: | For inserting into the narrative characters that would partake in a possible “new bourgeoisie” of neronian times, the work of Petronius is currently analysed as a rich source for the study of Vulgar Latin. In this perspective, we will endeavour a linguistic analysis of the verbal morphology present in the Cena Trimalchionis, compared with the studies found in grammars, such as FARIA (1958) e FERNANDEZ & ROLAN (1985), in order to propose a discussion on the preparation of latin students, using materials like these, to deal with texts fleeing formal classical latin standards. |
