Since the generation Z, who met and grew up with technology at a young age, will be different in business because of social network interaction. Thus, the main aim of this research is to investigate social media usage levels, preferences and educational usage of Z generation in Turkey. The research was carried out in a general survey model and the sample of the research consisted of 269 individuals of Z generations. The ‘social media usage scale’ which has two sub-scales named as ‘continuity’ and ‘competence’ developed by Deniz & Tutgun-Ünal (2019) was used to collect main data. Some of the major results are as follows: (a) The social media usage levels of Z generation is at moderate level; (b) Generation Z males perceive themselves more competent than females of the same generation; (c) As daily social media use increases, continuity and competence in social media use increases; (d) Z prefers to use Instagram most, YouTube come to second; (e) Generation Z follows educational content on the social media at thirty percent, while it follows video/music content more than eighty percent.https://journal.edu.az/files/2019/%E2%84%964/s-Tutgun-Unal.pdfz generationsocial mediasocial networkeducationturkey
