Summary:the paper problematizes assumptions and limits of educational programs for indigenous communities’ face to face individual and collective trajectories of ethnic groups that have suffered different impacts of tutelary action by schooling and professionalization attempts. It analyses how these communities and individuals can build their singular and transforming trajectories from, and despite, these programs. Considering the paradoxical relationship between different cosmologies could not be solved simply by educational proposals, this paper uses document research and individual and collective memories approaches, trying to understand the complexity of this process concerning on their schooling trajectories and training to work.
