Summary: | The ethics of care emerged, in the 1980s, as a feminist reference for the understanding of care in our societies. Throughout this text I analyze how the care ethics provides an inadequate theoretical framework for the analysis of care work, and I try to offer some clues for a more appropriate understanding of the theme. To this end, I place the work of care at the center of discussions on social inequalities and power relations, and I turn to intersectional empirical research on the subject. |
