In particular, it focuses on the analysis of the transnational dimension of liberal constitutionalism in Latin America, the fusion of the global and the local in the making of a particular constitutional culture and on the social mechanisms which facilitated its diffusion. In doing so, it illustrates the ways in which these approaches shed new light on the forces shaping the elite’s legal and political culture at a crucial time in the state building process, and give us a new perspective on the many and varied links between the region and the world.http://journals.openedition.org/nuevomundo/66772global historyconstitutionalismLatin Americatransnacional circulationtranslations
