Description
Summary:Traditionally, a process of changing district borders can be a long and cumbersome process involving several layers of political decision-making. By using PostGIS topology and database triggers the workflow can be optimised and the setup automated, ultimately presenting the end-user with a fluent and fully automatic workflow without any complicated data interactions. This moves the responsibility from the GIS department out in the organisation. This paper presents the findings of creating this setup with the case of school districts, and creates a foundation for an automated editing process to be integrated with a webGIS application.
