Description
Summary:In the second decade of the 2000s, it is still possible, in an industrial country like Italy, that relatively young people with type 2 diabetes are referred to a diabetologist with complications already underway, due to neglecting the disease for lack of awareness and for refusal to accept the disease. We report the case of a patient, referred to the diabetologist by the ophthalmologist who diagnosed severe proliferative diabetic retinopathy and bilateral macular edema (Diabetology).
