Summary:The article describes the evolution of the concept of "soft power" in the writings of John Nye and of other authors, shows the derived nature of phenomenon of "smart power". Empirical and theoretical material has become the basis for a structural review of the key elements of soft power (culture, diplomacy, political ideology) in relation to the importance that they have in shaping the conditions for the implementation of "color revolutions". It presents a possible trend modifications of the phenomenon of soft power in the political "network power". It's based on contemporary literary sources.
