The first bookstore in Łańcut was found in 1927 by Teresa and Alaxander Chmiel, the owners of the shop “Bławatny”, whose for it conduct hired professionally prepared Jan Kazimierz Kęskiewicz. In 1934, they sold him the bookstore. He ran it on under the name of his wife Genowefa Kęskiewicz, up until 1950, ie. until its nationalization. Since that time, it led the State Enterprise “House of Books”. The company took only a bookshop and stationary trade utensils.
