P. Petrunina0Novokuznetsk Institute (branch) of Kemerovo State UniversityThe submitted paper deals with the analysis of the clarifying construction in Siberian dialects (Tomsk Oblast and Kemerovo Oblast). The analysis is aimed at the description and categorization of the so-called clarifying construction and one of its types – the substantiation construction represented by a specific complex structure, the ‘complex chain’ used to express the interrelation between the general and the particular (e.g., X is Y: namely, A, B, C). The chief peculiar features of the complex chain are the following: 1) the usage of a wide range of pronouns performing the function of the generalizing word; 2) the non-finality of the equipotent chain; 3) the frequent functioning of ‘etcetera’ words and word combinations playing the role of the last but non-final chain link; 4) the regular usage of associations, etc. The complex chain under analysis contributes to the ‘excessiveness’ of the dialect monologue being the fundamental trait of the latter.https://vestnik.kemsu.ru/jour/article/view/1871siberian dialects, dialect monologueclarifying constructionsubstantiation constructioncomplex chain |
