Summary:The results of a study to characterise the Kasargod cattle, undertaken under the NATP project on Animal Genetic Resources Biodiversity are presented. Most of the Kasargod animals were described to have moderate temperament, large hump, medium sized dewlap and large naval flap. The Kasargod animals were having adult body height of 91.09 f 0.41 cm and body length of 91.21 f 0.44 cm. . Predominant coat colour of these animals was black with black skin, black switch, black eyelids and black or grey switch.
