Аn International Scientific Project Lasting a Quarter of a Century

The author sums up the development of the unique for Russian international re- search project «Russia and Central Europe in new geopolitical realities», which she started 25 years ago at the point of complete break of cooperation between Russian and Central Europefn scientists and relations in general. The project has gone through different stages in its development, but its core has always been the desire of scientists from post-socialist countries to jointly discuss the crisis moments of their internal development, regional and bilateral relations, and world politics. The an- niversary conference that took place on December 5-6, 2019, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the velvet revolutions, showed that the scientific community has a desire and determination for proceeding a dialogue and solve complex and sometimes critical issues in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, which evokes the atmosphere and traditions of a series of round tables and confer- ences within the project. At the jubillee conference, the discussion focused on the most critical is- sues related to a comprehensive analysis of the results of reforming societies and the entire Central European region, on the new challenges arising from the crisis of World politics. The depth and quality of the discussion had strengthened the desire of leading scientists from Central European countries and Russia to continue the dialogue in this particular format.
