It is indicated that: (i) the TGG as well as Dooyeweerd postulates a radical structural distinction between man and animal but on different grounds; (ii) the intertwined unity of human nature is not fully recognised by the TGG; (iii) the complementary role o f man and reality in determining the structure of knowledge is acknowledged by both the TGG and Dooyeweerd.
