Description
Summary:: In this article, we intend to analyze the short-story by Machado de Assis, “Cantiga de esponsais”, from the construction of the space under a topoanalysis perspective. To this goal, theorists such as Edgar Allan Poe (1997), Gaston Bachelard (1989), Yuri Lotman (1978) and Borges Filho (2007), among others, will be of great value since all these researchers treat the space as an extremely relevant to the literary text. In addition, we will emphasize the scripture to demonstrate how spatial approach is consistent with the theoretical reflections.
