Justiça ambiental e o etnodesenvolvimento

Since 80`s decade, has been discussing the Environmental Justice, as way to be shared equitably the onus of the development. Th e questions regarding to ethnicity are included in the globlal discussions about Human Rights. Th is article proposes a correlation analysis between Environmental Justice and ethodevelopment, passing through the sustainability and Human Rights. It`s notable that the ethnic questions associated of the envivonmental sustentability idea on Indians lands as seen as obstacle to economic growth, which is equivalent to condemning this group living in the stone age without the advantages and the dignity that development brings. The pressing need for those people use natural resources existing in their lands, not only in character of subsistence, but also to the socioeconomic development of the community, requires a management model that ensures the preservation of their culturetraditions.In this paper, I analyse the Cultural Environment, considering the cultural groups that make up Brazilian society and economic issue of everyone`s right to development and dignity.In this context, it ispossible to consider the ethnodevelopment as an instrument of public policyrelated to indigenous harvest environment, recognizing the close relationship between the Indians and natural resources. At last, we concluded that ethnodevelopment broke a paradigm of environmental injustice demonstrating that it is possible to achieve the development of acommunity respecting their cultural differences and promote environmental justice. It is emphasized that the objectives proposed by ethnodevelopment only be achieved if there is an effective indigenous participation in these projects, because the main claims of these societies are the control of their lands and recognition of their ability to self-determination.
