Summary: | Soybean is one of food crop which has many benefits. Domestic soybean production is lower than consumption. Dependence of imports can be avoided by increasing production efficiency of domestic soybean. This goal of this studi are to analyze the factors that affect the production, estimating technical efficiency scores, and analyze the determinants of technical efficiency. Data analysis method for the first goal used Production Function of Cobb Douglas Stochastic Frontier based on the assumption of normal distribution half, truncated, and exponential, then choose the best models by using Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and Schwarz Information Criterion (SIC). The second goal used the ratio of actual production and potential production. The third aimed, estimated the determinants of efficiency using Tobit regression models. The results of this study show that factors which has positively influence of production are land and seeds, while labor has negatively influence. Soybean farming has not reached the technical efficiency, so farmers still have the opportunity to increase production in order to achieve full technical efficiency. Farmers who are renting land have a higher level of efficiency than the farmers who work on their own land. Increased technical efficiency can be done by improving the performance of farmers in carying his plant and extend the experience of farming by means of exchanging information regarding soybean cultivation techniques.<br /><br />Keywords: soybean, technical efficiency, determinant efficiency, AIC, SIC<br /><br /><br />ABSTRAK<br /><br />Kedelai merupakan salah satu tanaman pangan yang banyak memberikan manfaat. Produksi kedelai domestik lebih rendah daripada konsumsi. Ketergantungan impor kedelai dapat dicegah melalui peningkatan efisiensi produksi kedelai domestik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi produksi kedelai, mengestimasi skor efisiensi teknis, dan menganalisis determinan efisiensi teknis. Metode analisis data untuk tujuan pertama menggunakan Fungsi Produksi Cobb Douglas Stokastik Frontier berdasarkan asumsi distribusi half normal, truncated, and exponential, kemudian memilih model terbaik dengan menggunakan Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) dan Schwarz Information Criterion (SIC). Tujuan kedua, menggunakan rasio produksi aktual dan produksi potensial. Tujuan ketiga, mengestimasi determinan efisiensi menggunakan model Regresi Tobit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang berpengaruh positif terhadap produksi adalah: luas lahan dan benih, sedangkan tenaga kerja memberikan pengaruh negatif. Usaha tani kedelai belum mencapai efisiensi teknis sehingga petani masih mempunyai peluang untuk meningkatkan produksi agar mencapai full efisiensi teknis. Petani yang yang menyewa lahan memiliki tingkat efisiensi lebih tinggi dari pada petani yang menggarap lahannya sendiri. Peningkatan efisiensi teknis dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan kinerja petani dalam merawat tanamannya serta memperluas pengalaman usaha tani dengan cara saling bertukar informasi mengenai teknik budidaya kedelai. <br /><br />Kata kunci: kedelai, efisiensi teknis, determinan efisiensi, AIC, SIC<br /><br /> |
