Description
Summary:The fatigue fractures represent the most frequent failure cause of the machines and machinery in general. Under cycling loading, the fracture is mainly propagating from the surface of the part – the place with highest value of stress concentration. Fatigue strength is decreased by presence of the cracks, inclusions and rugged surface. The paper is focused on monitoring of the crack propagation in weld and heat-affected zone during the fatigue test. Comparison of corrosion-free test samples and samples treated in the salt cabinet is presented.
