We used Pictorial Test of Memory (TEPIC-M) and a social-demographic questionnaire. Descriptive analyzes and t-Student test for independent samples were applied. Experimental condition presented higher mean rate (M = 11 .63, SD = 3.07) compared to control condition (M = 8, SD = 3.58), yielding a statistically significant difference between groups (t(22) = 3.07, p<0.05). Thus, it is suggested that musical performance can improve shortterm memory.http://revistas.ufpr.br/psicologia/article/view/32489Criançasmúsicamemóriaplasticidade cerebralteste pictórico de memória
