Summary:Congenital anomalies of the aorta are rare disorders that result from an abnormal development of the embryonic pharyngeal arch system. Aortic arch abnormalities occur in 1% to 2% of the population, and their clinical representation, usually in the first years of life, depend on esophageal or tracheobronchial compression or abnormal blood patterns.
