With respect to the vision statement, economy of Iran has to transform to a knowledge-based economy in 1404, which is currently (according to the official statistics) an input-oriented one. Improving productivity is among primary solutions to reach the goal. Nevertheless, productivity of the government has not been in a good condition during past few years.Due to this matter and challenges in productivity of government, the author tries to investigate it and explain productivity in a new conceptual framework of government and analysing its situation in Iranian state, in addition. The technique which has been used in this study is documentary and the author by the help of secondary analysis of the findings, tries to draw and analyse the current productivity situation in Iranian government, as well as suggesting solutions. These solutions are typically structural with consentration on structural revision of government and methods in which public organizations are conducted.
