So, our aim is to analyze the existence of statistically significant differences in Cuban small businesses performance by regions for the period 2011-2014 taking into account innovations and rationalizations implemented during the period 2006-2009. We also study whether the environment favors innovation. The results show that provinces with an index of innovations and rationalizations above average, get higher performance.
