The purpose of the research is to reveal conceptual foundations of the philosophical and methodological component in a scientific pedagogical research, to substantiate its general scientific significance, and to highlight its multidirectional orientation towards different fields of scientific knowledge. The analysis reaches fundamental philosophical methods and principles that have been crystallized for centuries and now form the basis of science. Particular attention is given to the vanguard research tradition of phenomenological and hermeneutic philosophy, and the method of historical and philosophical reconstruction. The novel philosophical concepts, methodological approaches and principles are interpreted within the context of the development and organization of pedagogical research. The author substantiates the position on the rational nature of philosophical reflection, which throughout the whole history appeared as a method of theoretical, cognitive consideration and resolution of ideological issues. The results of philosophical thinking serve as grounded statements, theoretically proved, logically necessary, and universal truths. These qualities prove the importance of philosophical and methodological components in research activities of different directions and postulate the need to develop a flexible methodology, supplemented by the latest conceptual means of phenomenology, hermeneutics, and historiography. Philosophical knowledge posits itself as a prerequisite for scientific research, since it provides the latter with the necessary conceptuality. A philosophical thought has a direct influence on the research process, forming the criteria for a qualitative evaluation of one or the other hypothesis or theory; it also extrapolates the obtained results and gives the ground for generalization on the level of fundamental scientific principles. Philosophical intuition constitutes the horizon for interpretation of scientific results and mediates the dialogue between different domains of scientific knowledge.http://pptma.dn.ua/files/2018/7/8.%20Karpenko%2097-105.pdfphilosophical and methodological componentscientific knowledgescientific and pedagogical researchmethodological principlesconceptual ideas
