Los usos de la memoria y de la historia del zapatismo en un conflicto actual: origen y surgimiento del EZLN 1994

The memory of Zapata and the interpretation of the original Zapatismo is now one of the main points of dispute and tension between official history, developed by the institutions, professional history, developed by social scientists, and groups such as the EZLN, which are claiming for this memory along with their struggles. This analysis, which doesn’t pretend to be an exhaustive one, proposes to think about the meaning of three interpretations of the Zapatista memory according to the identity embodied by each of social activists and the political uses that they makes with this memory. Actually there are three types of use that are articulated from the tension of political, intellectual and social opponents and connect these three social groups between each others.
