Le parcours de transition des étudiants choisissant les IUT lors de leurs parcours au sein de l’enseignement supérieur

This article analyse the path of student who chose at one moment of their curriculum to pass a technical university degree (DUT). Throug a thorough analysis of national data and Reims-Châlons-Charleville IUT ones, the scholars propose their own definition of transitional path. Even if the authors agree that some realities cannot denied, such as the fact that a majority of student continue their studies after DUT. They aim at showing the plurality of the possibility of choices and diploma usages. The autors’ path definition interwines three dimensions: students’ social status, the evolution of the university degree proposal and the strengh of diplomas with face to the mutating job market. As a conclusion, they suggest that graduating offers the opportunity to build different paths not only in order to securise employabaility but also to aspire to move ambitious professionnal and academic objectives.
